Morocco in Style

This classic tour explores the ancient cities of Fez and Marrakesh in style. Arrive in Morocco, take a brief tour of the highlights of Casablanca, then drive to Fez, the intellectual and religious heart of the nation. Stay at the Sofitel Palais Jamai, a former Moorish palace overlooking the medieval medina (old town).

Tour Fez el-Bali ("Fez the Old") and its medieval medina (old town), a UNESCO world heritage site crammed with narrow, winding streets, tiny squares and artisan workshops. Visit centuries-old mosques and universities, see the multi-colored vats of the open-air tanneries, and shop for traditional wares made from copper, ceramics and leather. Also visit Fez el-Djedid ("Fez the New"), built in the 13th century. Visit the Royal Palace and the mellah (Jewish Quarter), the largest in Morocco.....

What's a Ryad:

Traditional ‘riads’ are our favourite places to stay in Morocco. These charming private homes offer accommodation to just a few guests and provide a uniquely Moroccan experience.Staying in a riad is one of the highlights of a trip to Morocco; the typical design has rooms opening off an enclosed courtyard with a garden or cooling fountain. They tend to be small, from four to 20 rooms, and are furnished in a mixture of traditional and modern French-influenced styles.

When to Go

Morocco can be roughly divided into three climatic regions: the higher interior of the Rif and Atlas mountain ranges, the coast, and the desert areas of the south.
Throughout the country, the temperature varies considerably over the course of a day, and a sweater may be necessary even on a summer evening, whilst winter temperatures can fall low enough for frost and snow on the mountain tops. Rain does fall during the winter, although not often and seldom in large amounts.
The coastal regions can be visited year-round; in the winter they are pleasantly mild, and bask in mid-twenties celsius temperatures in the summer.
The high interior can also be visited year-round, although it does get cold in winter, with averages in the late teens celsius.
The southern desert areas experience similar climate to the high interior, although temperatures are hot, reaching an average of up to 40ºC in summer.
